The Birmingham-Jefferson Red Cross serves the residents of Jefferson County by providing programs and services consistent with the American Red Cross congressional charter and the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross Movement. To meet the needs of our communities, we provide relief to victims of disasters; help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies; provide service to the military and their families; administer Project SHARE (energy assistance); Health & Safety courses; and weekly blood drives. The Birmingham-Jefferson Red Cross has two locations in Jefferson County, one in downtown Birmingham and another in Bessemer.
